Small. Like a day's use of metals is a gram or two if you aren't spamming them all the time. But you need a pretty large variety of different metals, and the powers that use alloys need very precise mixes that aren't typically used for other purposes.

in short, we aren't getting effective use if we aren't spending fusion matter on a large variety of metals
and if we commit to this, we run the risk of constantly just zeroing out fusion matter to throw into that bonfire
like using tons of powerups, its not a great solution
it could be done, but the cost to usage ratio does not appeal
